Balfour Golf Course

—

The Kootenays' best-kept secret

The peaceful shores of Kootenay Lake are home to a beautiful 18-hole golf course.  Balfour Golf Course is a 6,510-yard course designed by Les Furber.

Furber is known for combining playability with challenge. His clearly-defined fairways capped with beautifully contoured greens emphasize the natural beauty and surroundings at Balfour Golf Course.

Furber has created some of B.C.'s best-loved golf courses, including Predator Ridge in Vernon, the Radium Resort Springs course, Fairview Mountain Golf Club in Oliver and Trickle Creek Golf Resort in Kimberley.

Balfour Golf Course is located 25 minutes north of Nelson, B.C., near the Kootenay Lake ferry terminal. It features private lakefront meadows and majestic forests with amazing mountain and lake views.

The course offers a golf academy where you can take lessons and the club prides itself on its golf camps, like the boot camp golf school, custom golf school or the weekender golf school. The academy is led by CPGA head professional Craig Wilkinson.

The course also features a restaurant, Osprey Mountain Grill, where you can grab a casual lunch or dinner on their large deck that overlooks the golf course.

If you want to stay and play, you can stay course-side at Kootenay Lakeview Lodge. Or you can park your RV for 24 hours if you plan to play golf.
