Granite Pointe Golf Course

—

Experience Nelson’s mountain golfing adventure

Granite Pointe Golf Course, located only minutes from downtown Nelson, B.C., was completely overhauled and expanded to 18 holes in 1993. Your experience through Nelson’s mountain golfing adventure at Granite Pointe Golf Course begins with a park-like setting, generous fairways and some great water hazards.

The back nine traverses mountainous terrain, with some holes offering elevated tee boxes. The “three aces,” holes 15, 16 and 17, offer some very good scoring opportunities. Hole 16 has actually been voted one of the top holes in B.C.

The course's signature hole is Hole 18, where you’ll notice a monster-sized chunk of granite partially blocking your view of the flag on the home stretch.

The course features numerous tournaments and events and has a great restaurant where you can enjoy a meal after the game.

Granite Pointe recently entered into a partnership with Kootenay Professional Golf Services to aid in their golf operations for the 2012 season. This group of CPGA-certified golf professionals offer consulting services that include instruction, club fitting, junior development and pro shop operations. The principals of the group are Brad Woods, former head professional at Balfour Golf Club); Bryan Boyes, long-time teaching professional at Kokanee Springs Golf Resort; and Robert Little, former director of instruction at Vernon Golf and Country Club. Between them these three bring 50 years of golf knowledge to Granite Pointe.
