It is easy to understand why the percentage of listed properties within Panorama Mountain Resort and surrounding the adjacent Greywolf Golf Course (together known simply as Panorama) are below the resort industry’s overall average. The Panorama product is hard to beat when you consider the unparalleled four-season recreational activities offered and the area’s community-oriented atmosphere that is perfect for families.

Currently, approximately 80 properties are for resale of the roughly 1,000 total properties within Panorama. Paul McIntyre, owner of Panorama Real Estate Ltd., built the first house on the Greywolf Golf Course nearly 20 years ago and surprisingly is still baffled as to why the Panorama area is not more popular than it is. McIntyre’s brokerage holds at any given time roughly 70 per cent of the listed properties in Panorama, and he has spent an entire career working in the North American resort industry at locations such as Whistler-Blackcomb, Mammoth Mountain (California), Park City (Utah) and of course Panorama.

“All within a 15-minute drive, there are world-class recreational amenities,” said McIntyre, and he is absolutely correct. With the warm Lake Windermere only a short drive, Panorama Mountain boasting the sixth most vertical gain in North America, and several championship-calibre golf courses all within a 30-minute car ride, living in Panorama certainly has its perks.

For the avid golfer, real estate opportunities surrounding the outstanding Greywolf Golf Course prove very popular and due to high demand, pricing for these properties is rather high. For the past few years, homes in close proximity to Greywolf typically have sold for around $1 million, despite the 2008 global economic recession and the recent dip in energy prices. Condominium opportunities are also available, such as the Wolf Lake luxury townhome complex situated just behind the ninth green at Greywolf. Wolf Lake sits right in front and offers sweeping views of the golf course, with Monument Peak looming in the background and ski runs to the left.

Closer to the ski hill, Panorama’s newest residential neighbourhood development currently selling is Trappers Ridge. It’s a unique and surprisingly affordable subdivision with majestic mountain views. A huge selling point for the development is that every lot features the fabulous ski-in, ski-out convenience.

The Panorama area is the perfect place for indulging in many different recreational activities. With world-class amenities all within a short drive, choosing a location for your next home may now be that much easier!
