The CN Canadian Women’s Tour takes female golfers to some of the best playing conditions in Canada

by Danielle Cameron Attracting golfers and fans from all over the world, the CN Canadian Women’s Tour is put on by the Royal Canadian Golf Association (RCGA) and sanctioned by the Canadian Professional Golfers’ Association (CPGA). It is the only developmental golf tour for women in Canada, and brings with it competitive purses and exciting play at a variety of beautiful courses across the nation. Several current golf pros such as Lorie Kane and Alena Sharp began with the Canadian Women’s Tour and went on to achieve great success. Both professional and top amateur competitors can take part in this tour—and doing so can earn them one of seven exemptions into Canada's only LPGA Tour event; the CN Canadian Women’s Open. They will also be vying for various awards, including, of course, the Jocelyne Bourassa Player of the Year Award for finishing in first place on the CN Canadian Women’s Tour Order of Merit. Each of the three tour events has a $60,000 purse along with a $10,000 purse that will go to the champion of each event. The CN Canadian Women’s Tour accepts female competitors who are professional, amateur or junior with a handicap factor of 5.0 or better. The cost to enter is $375 for professionals and $250 for amateurs (per championship).
