Kevin Maffioli is the head CPGA professional at Christina Lake Golf Club and holds the course record of 64, a record he shares with with Lindsay Renolds and Matt Shaw. He gave us his two cents on the key to golfing Christina Lake.

“It’s a pretty straightforward course,” Maffioli said. “Just hit it straight, avoid bunkers and play down middle. Make sure you don’t get yourself in too much trouble.”

Maffioli was selected last year in the GolfWest Reader’s Choice Awards as the Favourite Pro in British Columbia.

“[At Christina], it’s hard to lose a ball,” he noted. “You can usually make it through a round only using one.”

It’s important not to take for granted the simplicity of the course, however. Pace is fast and you don’t want to hold up other golfers by underestimating the challenge.
