Tyler Baker, PGA of Canada head professional at Waskesiu Golf Club, offers advice for playing his favourite hole there and for the game overall.

“My favourite hole here is No. 2. It is a downhill par 3, so besides taking in the scenery, you definitely want to be able to judge the right club. It’s about half a club shorter, and you definitely want to keep the ball below the hole because it’s a very, very undulating green. If you get it above it’s a very difficult putt.

“I really stress course management. It doesn’t matter how long the hole is, you have to play to your strengths. If it’s a trouble hole for you, lay back with a hybrid or a three-wood and hit a wedge to the green. If you’re a good wedge player, try and get that wedge in your hand.

“You see it a lot of times: that’s how people make mistakes. They stand on the tee box with the wrong club in their hand and by the time they finish the hole they’re taking a five or a six, while if they’d managed wisely it could have been a three or a four.”
