These lengthy golf holes promise to give golfers of all calibers a serious challenge. With the ongoing honing of golf club technology even causal golfers nowadays can strike the ball with authority, distance and increased accuracy. Polson Bay Golf Course – Polson – Hole #3 – 608 yards (Blue tees)

This long narrow fairway starts out by the water and veers slightly to the left as it heads to an hourglass shaped green with sand to the left forefront. Demands a long accurate drive off the tee box.

Whitefish Lake Golf Course (North course) Whitefish – Hole #18 – 601 yards (Black tees)

The second of two holes over 600 yards in the Flathead, this fairway is straight away – long and narrow pretty much sums it up. This lengthy hole ends up at a small triangular green. Keep it on the fairway at all times.

Buffalo Hills Golf Course – Kalispell – Hole #2 – 598 yards (Silver/Flathead tees)

Just two yards under the 600 yard club, this hole is a favourite at Kalispell's Buffalo Hills Golf Course. This is a big bender to the right. A long accurate tee shot slightly to the left should set you up nicely to have a good look at the green. Par 5 beauty!

Wilderness Club Golf Course – Eureka – Hole #18 – 593 yards (Black tees)

Definitely one of the prettiest holes on the course and maybe the course's signature hole. A long 593 yards, off the black tees or 497 yards off the silver. This par 5 is more than a bit intimidating with water on the left side from the tee box to the tiny green at the other end. Fairway bunkers skirt both the right and left side of fairway and more sand traps front the approach to the green. Par 5.

Starting your golf course with its longest hole is always a bold move. Village Greens Golf Club, an 18 hole, par 70 facility, is home to some of the finest greens in the Flathead Valley.  From the spectacular fairway knolls, to the shimmering lakes, to the incredible mountain vistas, every detail of our course stands in harmony with its surroundings.

Mission Mountain Golf Course – Ronan – Hole #15 – 557 yards (Blue tees)

This course was designed by Gary Roger Baird and opened in 1988. A fly-over video of this hole shows that hole #15 is without question long and challenging. It sweeps a bit to the right and then left, and it protected by many trees along the way. Stay in the middle to be safe.

Northern Pines Golf Course – Kalispell – Hole #17 – 555 yards (Green tees)

The secret to Hole #17: Drive the ball in the fairway. Plan to play your second shot as the big hit because there is far more room. At this point you will be looking at 150 yards or less in. Go for the pin and a birdie bid!

Summary Hole #8. Options define this par 5 hole. The longer hitter can try to challenge the green in two. The rest of us can reach in 3 with good shot positions avoiding water left and a green surrounded with bunkers.

Iron Horse Golf Club (Private) – Whitefish – Hole #6 – 552 yards (white tees)

Off the tee box this long hole is oriented to the right with several fairway bunkers skirting its edges and a smallish green in the distance protected by a semi-circle of sand traps by the green. You earn your par 5 on this one.

Rounding out the Top 10 longest holes this fairway is squeezed in between holes 7, 8 and 11. It gently hooks to the left. Accuracy is almost as important as length to ensure a par 5 finish here.
