Choosing between golfing in inclement weather or not golfing at all should be an easy decision. Golf apparel is better than it’s ever been, making it easier on us fair-weather golfers to play in any weather condition.

Nevada Bob’s Kamloops manager Chase Broadfoot has been golfing since he was six years old and knows how to dress properly for any conditions. Saying that, he was caught wearing shorts on a cool day in March, so even the pros can make mistakes sometimes.

Broadfoot sees all of the season’s new apparel get unboxed in his store, so he has the answers for what to wear to look good while staying warm, dry or cool.

“If rain is in the forecast, then obviously rain gear is important,” said Broadfoot. “Keep a jacket, pair of pants, and even a bucket hat on hand if the skies decide to open up. For cold weather, layering is a must. Pants, long sleeve thermal, a polo, quarter-zip pullover and a toque should do the trick.”

For warm conditions, like a summer day in Kamloops, Broadfoot suggests an elite cooling woven shirt, shorts and mesh shoes.

“Some things to watch out for this season are some of Nike’s new products, which uses lightweight stretch woven material to allow for maximum mobility and breathability while creating a more tailored fit,” said Broadfoot.

Expect to see lots of bright colours from all of your favourite brands this season as well and Broadfoot encourages everyone not to be afraid to express themselves.
