About Windmill Golf Group

Windmill Golf Group’s roots began in the 1950’s when Lawrence Ehlert – who managed a small 9 hole-golf course in Southern Alberta for 30 years – expanded the course to 18 holes. Lawrence’s son, Ron, grew up working at the golf course and was later involved with the design and construction of dozens of golf courses around Alberta including some local courses such as Elbow Springs Golf Club, McCall Lake and Lakeside Greens. Ron Ehlert owns Elbow Springs and is President of Windmill Golf Group creating a stepping stone for his son, Barry. Barry Ehlert continues the family legacy with a huge enthusiasm for golf and the golf business.

He is a leader in his own right as Owner and Managing Partner of The Hamptons Golf Club, Mickelson National Golf Club (presently under construction), Springbank Links, Boulder Creek, Silverwing Links Clubs located in Calgary as well as The Wilderness Club in Montana, Northern Bear in Edmonton, Wildstone Golf Course in Cranbrook, B.C. and Radium Course and Spring Course, Radium, B.C.

About Brewster’s Kananaskis Ranch Golf Course

Brewster's Kananaskis Ranch Golf Course is a full 18-hole public facility open April – October. This Rocky Mountain golf course lies in the shadows of Yamnuska Mountain on the North side of the Brewster family’s 85 year old guest ranch. The location, 15 minutes from Canmore and 45 minutes from Calgary, where the foothills meet the Canadian Rockies, is a beautiful setting for hosting tournaments, group events, conference meetings, weddings and staff outings.

Every hole is unique, with smooth naturally shaped fairways, bent grass greens, ponds and sand traps. The back nine holes that opened in 2008 offer spectacular views of the Bow River and Bow Valley. Large spruce trees line the course, build on this historic Ranch where Brewster horses can often be seen grazing along the course.
