Western Canadian Graham DeLaet set to appear at British Open

Western Canadian Graham DeLaet announced Monday via Twitter that he will be making an appearance in the British Open next weekend.
“I officially made the field for the British Open!” Delaet wrote. “So pumped!”
The tournament will be taking place at Muirfield in Scotland from July 18 to 21. Players will be competing for both the prestigious title of British Open Champion as well as an $8 million purse.
DeLaet’s golf career began in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, at the local golf club. He played in a variety of Canadian amateur tournaments and then for Boise State University in Idaho. In 2007 he became a professional and by 2009 had earned the player of the year award for the Canadian tour.
His professional wins on the Canadian tour include the 2008 Desjardins Montreal Open, the 2009 ATB Financial Classic and the 2009 Canadian Tour Players Cup. He also took home the championship at the South Africa-based 2009 BMG Classic on the Sunshine Tour.
