The 2016 Olympics will bring good news for golf

With the London 2012 Olympics just finishing up, it’s not surprising that discussions have been sparked about Rio 2016. One hot topic is that of the new additions to the Olympic program. For the first time in 112 years, golfers will get to compete at the Games. The question is, though, who will be chosen to represent the strongest golf nations? We can guarantee some heavy competition for those few spots that will be allotted to each country. There are set to be at least 30 countries represented in Rio, a massive improvement from the 1904 Olympics when the U.S. and Canada were the only two competing countries.
The golf course for Rio 2016 is set to be designed by American architect Gil Hanse, who has planned an environmentally respectful course that will be friendly to both elite and amateur players.
