Fairmont Hot Springs golf team has been working round the clock to make sure Mountainside Golf Course was ready to re-open on Friday, August 31. The course has been closed since the debris flow of July 15, when tonnes of debris was unexpectedly deposited on the course, affecting seven holes.

Acclaimed golf architect Doug Carrick has been working with our golf team, advising them on how to best use the debris mother nature generously gave us to improve the course and make it even more fun to play!

New turf, redesigned tee boxes, a new creek bridge crossing and other improvements are underway, and the grand re-opening happens just in time for the September long weekend. Mountainside is open until mid-October, so there's plenty of time to play and experience the new changes this season.

Great to have one of the Kootenays' original mountain resort golf courses back on stream again.
