Dennis Swonnell of Victoria’s Bear Mountain Golf Resort accomplished the seemingly impossible on May 22, 2014, when he scored two holes-in-one on the exact same day.

“Member Dennis Swonnell just aced two holes in the same round on Valley Course @BearMountain (#10 & #14). #easycourse”, tweeted Chris Currie, Golf Sales Manager at Bear Mountain Golf.

Swonnell was out on the Valley Course with a few of his golfing buddies like he would be any other day, when he teed off with a 6-iron at the 10th hole—a 200-yard par 3. The sun was bright and high in the sky, so getting an exact visual on where the shot went proved difficult for the golfing trio. However, as they approached the estimated landing spot near the green, excitement shot through the roof when they saw that it had gone right into the hole.

This initial hole-in-one was not Swonnell’s first in his life, and as he learned four holes later, would not be his last. Teeing off at the 150-yard 14th hole, he once again bested Bear Mountain’s Valley Course—this time with his 8-iron. Watching the shot this time with clear vision, he saw his drive take two bounces on the flag before disappearing straight into the hole.

But apparently, Swonnell was nowhere near as excited as everyone else seemed to be about his double ace—he was just happy that he had played a solid round that day.

According to the United States National Hole-In-One Registry, having one player make two holes-in-one in the same round has the odds of 67 million to 1. And remarkably, it seems that Swonnell has beat those odds.
