Valemount Pines Golf and Country Club is a full-sized, scenic golf experience with nine greens and double tees just off of the Yellowhead Highway near the Robson Valley.

Owner and general manager Arnold Wied said the mountain beauty is a perfect backdrop for the challenging course.

Without a doubt, holes 5 and 9 are the most difficult—both long par 5s are treed on either side of the fairway.

“Five has a dogleg and the green has a lake behind it,” said Wied. “If you have trouble, it will be on Hole 5.”

It might be tricky for seasoned golfers, but Valemount Pines is also a favourite for families and beginners, offering junior programs and golf orientation lessons.

“We have a large practice range and practice tees that are very popular with new golfers and those looking to sharpen up their game,” said Wied.

The extended frost that blew into B.C. last season wreaked havoc on greens across the province, but Wied said his course has recovered beautifully.

“Everyone in B.C. had problems last year,” he said. “But our greens are back in excellent shape.”

Watch the course website for details about its annual Men’s and Ladies’ Opens, and its Yellowhead Tournament.
