19 holes guarantee a full round every time at Golden Golf Club

A new 19th hole at Golden Golf Club ensures play is never interrupted at Golden’s premier golfing destination.
"The intention of the spare hole was to make sure that if there are any renovations or changes, we always have 18 holes to play,” said head professional Graeme Kreiner. “We are using the spare hole currently because Hole 11 is recovering from winter, and we can still provide people the opportunity to get out on 18 holes.”
The 19th hole was originally developed when the course planned to make a second 18-hole course, but plans were set back by the recession in 2008.
“Hole 6 by the river floods sometimes,” said Kreiner, “so we use the spare then too.”
Hole 19, built to USGA specs, is similar to Hole 1, but the fairway is half as wide and there are a few fairway bunkers and a more challenging green.
