Sky Golf SGX/GPS Digital Sky Caddie

by Dennis Begin

This rangefinder or GPS unit is manufactured by Sky Golf Manufacturing. It is billed as the number one rangefinder in golf. The Sky Caddie is the official rangefinder of the PGA and CPGA. Jim Furyk, Natalie Gulbis and Peter Jacobsen endorse this product.

The GPS unit has brilliant, sharp colour display and 30,000 pre-loaded golf courses. Turn on the unit and the GPS will recognize the course and hole you are playing. What is different with this GPS is that with a true point positioning system, the moveable crosshairs give you exact distance to any point on the green.

With its Intell Green Pro software, not only distance to the flag is given, but front carry, false fronts, back distance, green contours and target area are displayed.

As you approach the green, the shape of the green will change based on your angle. Distance is also given to hazards, bunkers, trees and water, along with lay-up distances. The GPS is like having a real caddy talk you around the course.

Membership is required, which gives you access to their course library, course management features and updated software. At around $359, it has all the GPS technology you need on the golf course.
