Creston leads the way with the earliest opening of any golf course in the Kootenays—they opened on Saturday, March 7th. We are pleased to provide a list of projected opening dates for golf courses throughout the West and East Kootenay, and a few in southern Alberta.

The Creston Golf Club, which is now open for play, is known as one of the finest competitive venues in golf and has carried a storied history since its inception in 1954. It is surrounded by farmlands and forest. The course is playable for every level of golfer, from novice to expert. With short distances between greens and tees it is a great walking course, offering brisk exercise with gradually changing elevation on both nines.

With rolling terrain and fast, undulating greens the Creston Golf Club often requires that you use every club in your bag. Elevation changes put club selection and shot-making at a premium and the rural setting guarantees the occasional visit by deer, elk, coyotes, hawks, heron, eagles, vultures, osprey, ducks, turtles and other fauna.

Professionally designed and immaculately maintained, this wonderful facility is playable from a number of tees ranging from 5300 to 6500 yards, but don’t let the length fool you, the club has hosted five of the most prestigious BC golf championships. The Creston golf course offers a very enjoyable and challenging test of your skills and because of Creston’s mild weather it always has an early opening date!

Here is a list of the projected 2015 opening dates for Golf Courses in the Kootenay Rockies (some of these dates are tentative and weather dependent so be sure to check with the course beforehand)
